The 2 photos here are only a small portion of the ones I'm sharing on my monthly blogging day at Heroes, Heroines, and History.
These winter images are part of the wonderful collection taken in the early 1900's by Rancher and Photographer Hugh Beynon Biggs of his spread in the Rosebud Valley area near Drumheller, Alberta.
This collection is held at the Glenbow Archives in Calgary, Alberta, who have placed it online for anyone to see and use for educational purposes. It really is amazing to look back and see how ranch families lived, worked, and played a century ago.
I'd like to express my deep appreciation to everyone who saved this collection so that we can enjoy it all these years later.
Today's question:
Would you like to see another post or two on the work of H. B. Biggs including photographs of cowboys, summer chores, and women on the ranch?
