The sound of a train catches my attention no matter what the size, so when I found some stereographs and old images of miniature ridable trains, I wrote a post to share them with you. Steam Trains

Prairie Dog Central Railway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, July 1999

Back in 1999, the family and I took a lovely trip on the Prairie Dog Central Railway on the northwest edge of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Over the years I looked at the photos I took that day for research purposes, but never thought of showing them until I decided to write a post celebrating the release of Barbour's The Rails to Love Romance Collection.

Trains on Ice on HHH Today

I'm blogging at Heroes, Heroines and History today with a post about Trains on Ice.

Believe it or not, the 60+ ton trains crossed frozen rivers and lakes when there was a need, despite the dangerous risk of sinking. I've only found one that went through the ice, but would love to hear of others.

Old Wooden Train

Train Sighting!

I saw this old relic on my recent research trip
to the Batoche area of Saskatchewan.

I'm sure it's an old train car, but I've never seen anything like it.

Of course, the other option is that it's one of the original mobile homes.

Does anyone have any information they'd like to share?
