I'm blogging about Whooping Cranes over at Inkwell Inspirations today. We were blessed to have 3 of these majestic birds land within camera distance last year and since the annual Crane Spotting Survey is this Saturday, April 16th, I thought it would be a good time to post about them.
Whooping cranes went on the endangered species list after biologists found only 20 or so left in the world in the mid-1940's. The ones we see in Saskatchewan are in migration from Aransas, Texas to Wood Buffalo National Park for their summer breeding season.
