A natural occurrence, the ice bridge formed under certain winter conditions and being a tourist zone meant there were many people out for a new experience.
But it all ended in 1912 when the bridge collapsed with about 35 people on it sending a seventeen-year-old hero to his death. Along with him went the young married couple he had tried to save were kneeling and hugging as they met their fate.
